Dynamics 365 Business Central - View Inventory in the Warehouse

In this video, we will show you how to view the inventory within your warehouse in Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Learn how to view inventory within the warehouse

To do this, navigate to the search icon, enter ‘Bin Contents’ and select the related link. At the top of the page you can filter by location and zone and additional filters can be added using the filter icon on the right.

From here you can block movements for an item or bin, as well as set your minimum and maximum quantities. Any changes made will be reflected across the system straight away.

‘Quantity Base’ reflects the quantity of the item reflected as its base unit of measure.

‘Pick Quantity’ is the amount currently on outstanding take lines across all open warehouse documents.

‘Negative Adjustment Quantity’ is the amount of outstanding negative adjustments on a warehouse physical inventory journal or warehouse item journal.

‘Put-away Quantity’ is the number of outstanding place lines on warehouse documents

‘Positive Adjustment Quantity’ is the amount of outstanding positive adjustments on a warehouse physical inventory journal or warehouse item journal.

‘Available Quantity to Take’ is the ‘Quantity’ minus the ‘Pick Quantity’ and ‘Negative Adjustment Quantity’ and does not include the ‘Put-away Quantity’ or ‘Positive Adjustment Quantity’.

The quantity showing under ‘Quantity on Adjustment Bin’ at bottom of page reflects any pending inventory adjustments for the line you have selected.

For example, if you have negatively  adjusted an item there will be a positive adjustment bin until you have converted any bin adjustments to inventory. This can be done by calculating warehouse adjustments with the Item Journal. We have another video detailing this process.
